I bought this dishwasher in February 2006 and so far, so good. There are definitely techniques to getting clean dishes out of it (rinsing the dishes and not overloading), but overall it is a great machine! I hated spending time doing dishes, and I just had a baby, so now I am able to load it up, set it, and walk away. I recommend it over doing dishes by hand anyday!

We bought this after 2 years of no dishwasher. It saves us something like 30-45 minutes per day. It was easy to install, uses very little detergent (1T/load!), cleans well and sanitizes with the high heat setting and is relatively quiet. So much better than a big roll around diswasher or having your cabinets ripped out!

I have had this machine for 2 months, and I love it. As long as you load it properly (i.e. don't over load it) and you rinse your dishes a little, it cleans well. So far I have not had any machanical failures, although sometimes the dial gets stuck and it stops running. The latch is also sensitive. But, my kitchen went from gross and full of dirty dishes all the time, to a clean, guest-friendly place. Overall, I am happy with my purchase.

I bought this machine thinking it would simplify my life, it did not. The mechanics work OK, but after a few months of use, my hose mates started to leak. These hose mates are made out of plastic so they will not last very long.
Additionally, the detergent dispenser failed after 2 months and will not open at the right stage to deploy detergent to the cycle.

Ok I love this machine i have had it for about 2 to 3 years no it will not do really dirty plates but it does all my dishes and even some pans.. I love it and I am so happy that it works so well. I do rinse things first but just a quick pass under the water .

I have had mine for almost 2 years with no problems. It doesn't remove food well but we use it for mostly glasses, coffee mugs, and silverware, and dishes we quickly rinse before loading. Since its not for heavy duty washing, I found using the short wash the dishes come out just as clean and this saves on both energy and water use.

Purchased 1st dishwasher beginning of July. It arrived in numerous broken pieces and had to be returned. Recieved the second dishwasher, it worked for about 2 weeks. Didn't clean the dishes that well during those two weeks. I will no longer drain, so the water starts pouring out from underneath the dishwasher leaving a huge mess. This one is going back for a refund rather than an exchange. Don't waste your time or money on this one.

I bought my Danby in November 2002 and can't figure out why some people are having trouble with it. Mine is fabulous-never any problems, and the dishes are spotless clean. Use a rinse agent and you'll never have water spots. I only just now am having slight trouble-the inner portion of the front window has broken off (due to corrosion of the glue??). I called the service department-easy, friendly, no problems. They're sending me a new part right away. I love my Danby!!

Bought this for our office's little kitchen.
Connection easy after I bought an adapter for our faucet so it would fit their quick connect adapter. Worked great 2 times, 3rd time water exiting at bottom of the connecter, where discharge should come. Their service/parts dept. was very busy, left a voice mail but had to call back after 4 hrs. Very nice person, will replace the quick-connect unit. They do experience problems with the red pressure relief valve sometimes. (often?)

Disappointed

I was very excited about finally finding a dishwasher that would fit in our tiny kitchen. Unfortunately, even though I read the entire manual and followed all the instructions it worked once then completely broke. We found this out the second time we tried to run it and no water would go into the machine which we did not know until too late. Part way through the cycle the hose broke off from the built up pressure and sprayed all over our kitchen. The only positive aspect of this purchase was that Target took back the dishwasher and refunded all of our money. Five stars for Target - zero stars for Danby.
